Within the Acts of Thomas is a very famous poem "The Hymn of the Pearl" ( one translation of the name). It is "a beautiful and complete statement of a classic Gnostic myth describing the exile and redemption of the soul". Here is an introduction to the poem and and a translation of the poem by G. R. S. Mead.
